Dr. David Hillson is internationally recognised as a Risk Management expert.
David is an international risk management consultant and Director of Risk Doctor & Partners (www.risk-doctor.com), offering specialist risk management consultancy and training across the globe, at bothstrategic and tactical levels. His clients include major organisations in construction, telecommunications,pharmaceutical, transport, fast-moving consumer goods, energy, IT, defence and government.

With twenty years consulting experience, David is recognised internationally as a leading thinker andpractitioner in risk management. He is a popular conference speaker and award-winning author on risk, with five major books on the topic. He is well known for promoting the inclusion of proactive opportunity management within the risk process, and has developed a practical application of emotional literacy to risk psychology (www.risk-attitude.com). He has also recently developed a scaleable risk methodology (www.ATOM-risk.com).

David is active in the Project Management Institute (PMI). He was a founder member of the PMI Risk Specific Interest Group (SIG), and is currently the SIG’s Director of Technical Development. He received the PMI Distinguished Contribution Award for his work in developing the discipline of risk management, and has been a core author for the risk chapter of the PMBOK® Guide since 1998. He is an Honorary Fellow of the UK Association for Project Management (APM) and past chairman of its Risk SIG. David is also a Fellow of several other professional bodies, including the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (RSA), and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
