Dr. Wilhelm K. Kross is a recognized expert in the fields of risk- and project management. Dr. Kross is currently a Senior Vice President with Marsh GmbH, the consulting division of the World’s largest insurance broker and risk advisor – responsible for a variety of professional services as well as the corporate financial and operations management functions in Germany and Austria. Previously he was a Director and the Head of Management Consulting of Value & Risk, a boutique consulting firm based in the outskirts of Frankfurt, where he had focused on IT mega-projects, crisis and turnaround management, and operational risk audits and management. Prior to joining Value & Risk, Dr. Kross spent 10 years in Southern Africa and Canada – working inter alia for Trans-Natal (now BHP-Billiton), Logan Mining and Golder Associates as a trainee, planning and scheduling specialist, mine manager, functional manager and risk management specialist for assignments in more than 30 countries. Dr. Kross has held various positions as a trustee, manager, director, independent assessor, expert witness and lecturer, including his involvement since 2001 at the European Business School; and his current Presidency of the PMI Frankfurt Chapter. He holds a postgraduate degree in engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany, an executive MBA from Athabasca University, Canada, and a doctorate degree in finance from the European Business School, Germany. Dr. Kross has co-authored more than four dozen publications. His book “Organized Opportunities: Risk Management in Financial Services Operations” was published by Wiley (2006). |
